India is an unparalleled multi-religious, multi-linguistic, multi-ethnic, and multi-regional civilization. Therefore, secularism is the only way forward in which all religions and religious communities can coexist and respect one another. Secularism entails giving all religions equal status and treatment. So, it is essential for maintaining communal harmony and peace. In India, education is regarded as the most effective agent for promoting secularism. India is a multi-religious and culturally varied society. People have various religious beliefs and faiths. Most of them are uneducated and narrow-minded. At this point, secular education is required to inculcate the idea that all religions are equal.
Secularism must thus be promoted in order to recognise the importance of national unity and emotional integrity.
