Every year, a large number of students drop out of school around the world. In India, the issue of dropouts is of particular importance and interest.
According to a survey conducted by the Indian government's National Statistical Office (NSO), one out of every eight students enrolled in a school or college drops out before completing their education, with schools accounting for more than 62% of all dropouts. The main causes of school dropouts in India are poverty, accessibility, and availability. In other parts of the country, schools are too far away, resulting in dropouts among girls and primary school children. There are insufficient transportation facilities in the country, resulting in a lack of accessibility.
