Organ trafficking, like other forms of human trafficking, is a serious crime that results in gross human rights violations all over the world. It is also alleged to have increased on a large scale in India, as a majority of the Indian population remains in absolute poverty, as well as due to the Nation's poor economic growth, such offences are expected to have emerged with a serious and highly influential nexus.
Laws were enacted in India to deal with such serious offences, but there appears to be a gap between the goals of such legal frameworks and the outcomes achieved through their implementation to date.
